September is clear the clutter month

We all know that clearing the clutter from our villages and living spaces makes a difference to the environment and how we all feel about our community but this also applies to our minds. Clear the clutter from your mind with some relaxation and mindfulness and you will be surprised how it makes you feel more balanced and calm.

Sit quietly and just focus on your body, do a body scan from top to bottom and just notice what each part feels like, don't judge, just observe. Go for a mindful walk, notice everything around you, chase any chatter in your head away. Eat mindfully - slowly, savouring every bite, notice the texture, heat and taste. Don't be distracted by the TV or your 'phone.
There are so many opportunities in our day to take a mindful moment amongst our chaotic schedule - be mindful when cleaning your teeth, focus on how you feel right now, not what the day ahead holds for you. Take 5 minutes in your chair at work, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Calm breathing will tell your mind that everything is okay and will help to reduce stress.
