What is Hypnotherapy?

           WONDERING WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT AND HOW IT FEELS?

Hypnotherapy is a natural state of heightened awareness (known as a trance) which helps your therapist access your sub-conscious mind where all your thoughts, emotions and memories reside.  We instill a "trance" state through deep relaxation - which feel a bit like the stage between wakefulness and sleep.  It can be a very light trance or a deeper trance.  Everybody experiences it differently and you don't have to be "deep" for Hypnotherapy to work.  The client is always in control and it is pleasant, relaxing and there is no pressure to perform. 
The Hypnotherapist can then make suggestions to your sub-conscious mind and these are taken on board and acted upon in the following hours and days.
There will be a talk with the Hypnotherapist before the actual hypnotherapy and that is an important part of the session when you really start to think about the issue, where it stems from, how it affects you.  This talk also allows the Hypnotherapist to start to know you and how you think and can tailor the session to you, which makes it more effective.
