Do a quick reset if things get tough

The Christmas and New Year period can be a difficult time when we are thrown together with others and face things we might not otherwise wish to undertake or embrace or it can just be stressful with so much to think about.

This year will be particularly challenging for many other reasons too. Maybe you can’t see those you love and already miss during these strange times, or you have concerns about choices and weighing up risks.

We can end up feeling overwhelmed, stressed out and exhausted and might not react in the best way we would wish.

3 tips for this time: - Ensure you build in some time to do what you like to do – self-care - to re-charge your batteries. - Try to accept how some people are, expect it and don’t react to it. You can’t change them, but you can change how it makes you feel. - Be true to yourself. It’s ok to set boundaries and stick to them so you are living within your own code.

I wanted to provide you with a quick tool that might just help if you need a quick reset. It’s also a good thing to do on a daily basis. It will help keep you in the present moment, reduce any future-thinking (making it all up), worrying about the worst that could happen and dwelling on things that happened in the past that we cannot change.

Have a listen to this very short recording if you need to escape the madness for a while. Find a quiet place on your own – even the loo would work – and listen, breathe – and then go about your day.

Hope it helps.
