Are you Kind enough to Yourself?

Friday 13th November was World Kindness Day and I’m sure most of you can think of lots of ways in which you were kind to people – helping family and friends/strangers. How many of you think about being kind to yourself on this day.


We often aren’t kind to ourselves. We work too hard, we eat poorly and we say unkind things to ourselves in our head. It’s so important to look after ourselves so we can help others from a strong place.


Sometimes our way of living is all about how others feel – "if you’re ok then I’m ok", we’re very busy already but still say “yes” because we can’t say “no”, we want to please people and be wanted and needed. We get busier and busier and more stressed and that can lead to anxiety and all sorts of health issues and relationship problems, but we still keep saying “yes I can help”.


So think of every day as a Kindness Day and do something small that is good just for you – practise your hobby, read for a while, listen to some music, eat a healthy meal, enjoy time with friends doing what you choose ………….. and maybe say “sorry, no I just can’t help this time” now and again.
